Created in collaboration with Paul Leary, PhD over the course of the fall and winter months of 2024/2025, the musical composition “Is this who we are?” and dance solo “Or, what we have become” explore the power of improvisational artistic skills. The pieces are performed together live in companion with a reading of this poem
In the dead of winter
The white snow
Is like noise on an old tube television
Overwhelming
Like the view from above
A crowd of people
Moving backwards
The pieces were supported in part by The Society for New Music Vision of Sound Program and premiered at Ithaca College in Western New York at Ford Hall.
